Pluribus was an absolute treat of a TV show at the end of last year, and the kind of show it is - well crafted and entirely mysterious - lends itself very well to an accompanying podcast. This official show is hosted by Chris McCaleb, an editor on the TV show itself and has a roundtable discussion focusing on each episode of the show and featuring actors, crew, writers, editors, directors and anyone else who can weigh in on what it takes to make a series like this.

I’ve not delved too far into the watch-a-long, or rewatch-a-long podcasts but this that delves far behind the scenes is very much up my street. I remember absolutely loving the podcast that accompained The Good Place, as it gave such great insight into what the writer intended and helpful explanations about the theories and philosophy on display.

This Pluribus show is very similar. I didn’t want to watch it whilst the show was on as I prefer to go through at least one viewing with my own reaction to it but now that the first series is done and dusted, I wanted to hear what the creators had to say. There’s such great info contained within these shows. How they basically created the whole of Carol’s street with so much attention to detail, how difficult it is to play the Others when they can’t feed off emotions or react as a normal human would, and how you choreograph such complex scenes.

If you enjoyed Pluribus, and why wouldn’t you have, then you’ll definitely find something to enjoy in these episodes. There’s a roundtable for each episode of the show, and then also a bonus podcast each time talking to just one person who is geographically unable to join the regular disscussions. It’s such a great and talented group of people, you can’t help but admire them and be drawn into their process. The more information, the better! I hope they keep this show up for the next (and many more) series to come.
