A neverending love

Published July 26, 2026

Just randomly browing around YouTube and this incredible Roxette video popped up, celebrating 40 years since the release of their first single Neverending Love. Featuring the iconic duo Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle rendered as adorable puppets, the video is littered with Roxette references and easter eggs.

I hadn’t realised on first viewing that this was a fan video, created by someone just for the love of the band and the art. It wasn’t until preparing to write this post that I noticed the ‘fan video’ tag, and that makes it even more incredible!

The creator, Thomas Lawrie-Clark has talked about what a labour of love this was, even with the assistance of AI. (Appreciate some might be furious at the use of AI here, but to me it’s what AI is for - humans working with the technology to create something greater than the sum of its parts.)

It’s a brilliant way to celebrate the anniversary, and so impressive that Roxette put it up on their own YouTube channel. I don’t know about anyone else, but I really want to own a cuddly Marie and Per! Can we campaign for some additions to the merch shop here?
