Thoughts

This album is somehow exactly what I was expecting and yet also something totally new. I’ve liked a couple of Rex’s songs before but I hadn’t really thought about listening to the album until it popped up in Apple Music.

I love the inventiveness, there are some great songs on the album and it’s not really anything I’ve heard too much of before. But having said that, by the end, I was a bit fatigued by the whole thing. Rex doesn’t have the strongest of vocals which is fine for one or two songs but sustained over the full 35 minutes is quite a lot to take.

But, like I say, I enjoyed that it wasn’t treading a same-old path as others and there’s plenty of creativity to enjoy in there.
