I would not have looked twice at this game if it wasn’t free to me on Apple Arcade, because I’m not a massive fan of the Jeopardy! format. I can see why people like it but it infuriates me. Having to make the answers into a question is impossible to remember when you just want to shout out the answer. And the answers they show in no way answer the question you have formatted. It just makes me mad.

It’s in the Game

So it’s fair to say I went into this knowing I probably wasn’t going to like it all that much. But to its credit, the game play itself is quite fun. There are a good few modes to choose from, including boards that you need to clear, sprints where you go against the clock, and the daily trivia contest to see how well you can do with that day’s questions.

You can either type your answers in or do a multiple choice style quiz, which is good, and there are badges along the way to keep you invested, if you’re into that sort of thing. The main problem I actually had with it is the questions are, naturally, very American and some rounds are almost impossible. An obvious one like animals wasn’t too bad, but then theatre I got nowhere because I hadn’t heard of any of the Broadway shows they were talking about.

It’s tricky but the app itself is easy to use and you can get into the quiz element of it nice and quickly, so there’s plenty to like if you’re a Jeopardy! fan.

Thoughts

Overall, you have to know what you’re getting into with this app - the unique Jeopardy! style quizzing where you have to come up with the questions, and made primarily for an American audience which makes it harder for a European user. But really, the app does exactly what it’s advertising and brings the Jeopardy! game right to your fingertips.
