Time Comment
1:41 I wonder how many films start with the camera swooping in across the water.
4:58 I was not expecting the chicken to be Tommy Lee.
9:05 “I don’t look like that, that guy’s ugly.”
14:36 Loving how this is the same film. Plane instead of bus. Got it.
19:26 I don’t really understand what happened to the plane but I’ll just look away until it’s down, thanks.
23:32 This is so final destination… what else can go wrong?
25:36 Gerard must be thinking, I know this story.
29:22 “We’ve got a fugitive.” He said that so Godzilla-like.
33:52 Well if IronMan can’t find him, no one can.
36:31 Have they actually done that with a real plane? Bloody hell.
44:17 His boat is weird, he rowing but moving the way he’s facing.
50:31 “If he’d wanted me dead, he’d have shot me in the head, not the vest.”
51:38 Can’t believe he’s on another plane already!
58:35 “Stay on the trail, you can sleep next month.”
1:06:22 In what universe is the down arrow the button to stop the tape?
1:12:16 I don’t enjoy the word kite in this context.
1:16:13 I like that the whole team are knackered, not superheroes, just working bloody hard.
1:19:59 There are some really poor car choices in this movie.
1:22:45 I’m so curious about the logistics of police stealing civilian cars like that.
1:37:08 I DON’T KNOW WHO I’M ROOTING FOR ANYMORE.
1:40:57 Rage now.

Thoughts

It’s so weird how this film came into our lives. We stumbled across The Fugitive because we were looking for some old school but full on action. I went down a rabbit hole of “films like this” recommendations, and ended up picking The Fugitive because of the good cast and medium interesting trailer. We ended up loving it.

Then, somehow, Apple put the sequel up as 99p rental of the week. We only looked at it because I’ve been going on about marshals and how I hadn’t really heard of them until recently and now they’re everywhere. What are the chances?

Anyway, it was okay as a sequel but it didn’t quite live up to the first one. Tommy Lee Jones was excellent, really stole quite a lot of the scenes and it was disappointing he didn’t have anyone as good as Harrison Ford to play off. The story wasn’t as good, too complicated, and by the end, when the adorable one got shot, I just checked out, really.

The effects budget was clearly a lot bigger this time round, with the massive plane crash, a trip through the swamps, all that nonsense on the ship, etc. An okay film but it left me with a bit of rage, and mostly a wish to just watch the first one again.
