1:02 Ooh, no scrawl…. voiceover instead. Interesting.
3:30 “I told you this victory was too easy.” Always suspicious, our Obi-Wan.
4:28 What are the weird three-legged walkers? Dunno if I’ve seen them before.
7:36 I thought they only had one Padawan each.
10:17 Anakin had a Padawan! This is new.
11:19 Skyguy!
15:19 “I thought you were the one with the plan.” “No, I’m the one with enthusiasm.”
26:44 “Kidnapped, Jabba the Hutt’s son has been.”
27:22 Yoda is such a bad judge of character when it comes to Anakin.
30:57 Can’t decide if I think Anakin would revel in the power of being in charge of another Jedi, or if he would be raging because he knows how it felt to be patronised.
44:41 Gah, Dooku!
48:38 Even droids don’t know whether to cut the red wire or the blue wire.
51:03 “Yes sir. I mean, ma’am, sir.”
53:46 I can’t believe he just left her there when someone bad is about to burst through the door!
1:07:17 “If anybody can fly a bucket of bolts through hyperspace, he can.”
1:10:39 Defence vs offence debate.
1:16:41 Jazz version of the cantina band.
1:24:35 Why isn’t he like, dude, last time we met, you chopped my arm off?
1:28:17 “Run for it,” he says, even though he’s a giant slug.

Thoughts

This is the first movie in a long time that I’ve watched by myself. I wasn’t even aware of it until reviewing the Disney Plus content. When I was looking into The Clone Wars TV show that I’ve been wanting to watch for a while, I realised it all began with this feature length film.

So I had to watch it, but Mr C, whilst he doesn’t mind a bit of Star Wars here and there, he draws the line at a random animated movie from over a decade ago.

It wasn’t that great, really. It introduces all the characters we need to know for the movie, and of course opens up a lot of questions in terms of timelines, but it’s fine. I thought there was too much fighting and not enough story, but I did like the relationship between Anakin and Ahsoka. There were a good couple of twists at the end too, I suppose.

Not a favourite but worth watching to introduce the series, and for the completionist in me.
