---|---|
1:04 | Never thought about having to try and date and get up early for a morning show. |
2:29 | The picture got bigger! They tricked me! |
3:25 | She is pretty perky for such an early start. |
6:44 | How much stuff does she have? Most people get fired with just one cardboard box of stuff. |
7:52 | Boo. It’s not embarrassing to have a dream at 28. |
9:46 | She runs well in heels. I am suspicious. |
10:05 | Also, she looks just like Jennifer Garner. |
12:07 | “Well, that’s embarrassing.” Things you don’t want to hear in a job interview. |
13:55 | The third worst person in the world behind… |
15:52 | It’s Merc! |
19:16 | “Shall I show you my blog?” Does he think that’s a pickup line? |
22:29 | That’s the glass of the New York Apple Store. |
23:56 | Just like in Friends, where she had to fire someone to get respect. Although this time she did it because he’s horrible. |
24:48 | Punxsutawney Phil! Clearly that makes this the best film ever. |
27:22 | She fawns over him in a lift and then chases him across a field. No wonder he doesn’t want the job! |
29:30 | She’s kinda brave though, arguing with a man who holds a shotgun. |
35:33 | YES! She asked who the other two were. |
45:19 | I must start using bungle in sentences. |
55:37 | Live TV is pretty intimidating, but I can feel the buzz just from watching it in a movie. |
58:34 | He won the goodbye war! |
1:03:25 | It’s so obvious. She needs to get him talking about the eggs he likes. |
1:04:29 | I don’t know who Dan Rather is. |
1:13:43 | That’s the biggest slice of pizza I ever saw. |
1:18:23 | Gordon Ramsey mention! |
1:21:36 | I like her a bit less now. She’s flipped out for no reason. Mr C says she’s under a lot of pressure. Hmm. |
1:26:46 | Harrison smoking a cigar - a story well done. |
1:30:24 | If it’s been her dream since she was eight, she’d be crazy to say no. |
1:36:54 | It’s the EGGS THING! |
1:41:10 | Is that another Natasha Bedingfield song in a movie? Weird. |
Conclusions
Having seen the trailer for this one a couple of times, it promptly fell out of our heads, but eventually it bubbled back up to the surface. Never heard of either of the young peoples in it, but funnily enough, I have heard of Harrison Ford.
I really, really loved this. For a start, I was expecting more of a romantic comedy, but it’s not. It’s really just a comedy. The relationship between her and him is only part of the story. Secondly, the big gesture at the end - although it was pretty obvious - was done brilliantly. It was more special because it was an emotional moment that wasn’t slushy and that wins my approval almost instantly.
There were laugh out loud moments throughout the whole thing, and I really liked the lead character - except for her minor breakdown for no reason. Girls, eh?
My only complaint is that I don’t like the title. It doesn’t grab me. A minor gripe, though.
