Thoughts

I managed to catch one of the touring performances of Heathers The Musical, which was a bit of a revelation because I didn’t think that much of the film but know that it’s a massive cult classic now it has transferred to the stage. Most of my knowledge of it previously came from following Hannah Lowther on TikTok, but it was good to see it on stage in full.

I like the musical more than the film, and it’s an odd one in which the second half was better than the first (I don’t find that to be the case very often). You really get to know the characters and the songs in the second half are just that bit better in my opinion.

I’m glad this has been recorded for posterity, I think all musicals should get this honour, but I have to be honest, this performance didn’t fully do it for me. The crowd were more intrusive and annoying, as much as they were just showing their love for the show. And I think some of the people I saw were actually better. Fun seeing Hannah in action though!
