Part 2 is the final adventure in the Harry Potter film series. The much-anticipated motion picture event is the second of two full-length parts. Conclusions
From the traipsing around of part one, this finale really does ramp things up to a big old wizardy action sequence. There’s a lot that annoys me about this one, things like the fact they make a big deal about Teddy despite barely mentioning Tonks and Lupin’s relationship this whole time, but there’s also a lot to like. Neville finally getting his moment to shine is fantastic.
The bit where Harry sort of dies and goes to talk to Dumbledore didn’t work so well on screen for me, it was a bit Matrix purgatory, but it built up to a fantastic battle towards the end. Harry tricking Voldemort and their head-to-head was great. Mrs Weasley defending her daughter, and everyone generally making a bit of a mess.
Bit too much snake across the whole series, clearly aimed at fans rather than newbies to the Hogwarts world, but all in all I thought it came to a strong and satisfying conclusion. Also, Daniel Radcliffe as an older Harry Potter was truly bizarre, he genuinely looked middle aged.
