Time Comment
0:59 Just realised this is two Matt Damon films in a row.
3:34 Is it weird to write and star in something but not direct it?
5:33 Bars like that scare me. Lots of mouthy people, dark corners, and too much alcohol.
8:03 A barbershop quartet!
8:37 Are we supposed to know about the maths? Cos I feel stupid.
15:07 If he is that freakishly smart, how has he ended up as a janitor?
16:20 I like watching real life brothers being mean too each other in films. Much fun.
18:12 I don’t think I’ve ever seen Minnie Driver in anything before. That has been remedied now.
25:09 Is it physically possible to be that smart? Maths, history, law. What doesn’t he know?
29:14 Oh, add speed reading to the list.
32:24 None of these therapists are working out? Bring ol’ Robin Williams on board.
33:19 The man is on the cover and doesn’t appear until 33 minutes in.
40:12 Art on the list too.
42:42 Ah ha, now I’m starting to like the film. Couldn’t they have started it here?
45:36 That is quite a demonic laugh she has.
57:41 “We get to choose who we let into our weird little worlds.”
1:03:42 For a minute there, he was worried the question had hurt the guys feelings. We are making progress.
1:08:12 Demonic laugh aside, I like her. She seems fun.
1:34:07 Wow. That is quite the monologue. I wonder how long it took him to learn that!
1:38:15 I wouldn’t be able to answer the question either. What’s wrong with not knowing what you want to do?
1:44:06 Oh no! It wasn’t the therapist but Ben Affleck that made the breakthrough. Boo.
1:50:11 Awww, there you go. It only took two freaking hours.
1:53:56 With added beard, Robin Williams is basically one massive furball.
1:58:43 What about the woman? He has to see her before it ends.
2:02:30 We won’t get to see her, but at least he will.

Thoughts

This was a 99p film of the week on iTunes and I was immediately put off by the 2hrs+ running time. However, I am growing to like this Matt Damon chappie, so I thought I could spare him two hours of my life.

As you can tell, it wasn’t until about halfway through that I really started to enjoy the film. I liked the therapy stuff much more than the process of convincing him to go there. The conversations between Matt and Robin were fabulous. If it wasn’t so long, I’d be tempted to watch the film again.
