Conclusions

I was looking forward to this, you know how I love the minions, but it does suffer somewhat from the problem that hits many sequels - in the end, there just isn’t a strong enough story to sustain even the short ninety minutes of film.

There are some great elements, Bratt allowing some fabulous eighties references is great, and I quite enjoyed the juxtaposition between the twin brothers. But actually, not having enough stories means the film relies too heavily on minions being cute, or pigs scattering the land, or the unicorn sub-plot.

So, it was fine, but really, it was nowhere near as good as the original. I hope they do the right thing and put the series to rest now, it certainly felt like it came to a satisfying ending.
