In the script

Published June 14, 2026

Back in December, I wrote about the new Jonathan Creek project - a crowdfunding book of a script that writer David Renwick hopes to be a stage play. Prohibitive costs of putting on a show meant the author decided to get the work out there in some form or other, and the form was a book. I got sucked into the idea once one of the funding options included a signed script from the TV show and - hooray! - it all has arrived!

Sitting on a blanket, to the left a signed Jonathan Creek script with yellow cover from the episode ‘Jack in the Box’ and to the right the new Jonathan Creek book called The Fantom of the Acropolis

I’ve not read the book yet but it has jumped everything else on my to read list, so will hopefully get to it soon.

And the script, well I’m swooning. I mean, I know it’s just a print out with a signature on, but I love that episode so much. It’s the best, in my opinion, clever and twisted and with a reveal that is truly shocking both in concept and also in the visuals. To have even a tiny bit more insight from the stage directions of this is brilliant.

I don’t Kickstarter a lot, but I’m very glad I got involved in this one!
