A pocketful of sunshine

There are a lot of problems with the clothing industry for women - sizing inconsistencies, promotional angles, impact of fast fashion - but one of the biggest issues is the lack of pockets. This isn’t new news, it’s been a vocal complaint from many women for years: where are my pockets? There’s no good reason that suit trousers or jackets or skirts or anything don’t have pockets. Or worse, they have a pretend pocket opening with a sewed up liner. Infuriating.

Searching for clothes with pockets can be time-consuming, particularly if you’re shopping online where what you’re seeing doesn’t always line up with what you’re getting. But there’s a solution and it’s a fantastic website called: Pockets For Women.

This is a labour of love for two web developers, taking the hard work out of the search for pocket-goodness:

I was so sick of struggling to find clothes with decent pockets on other websites, I decided to make one myself. I’ve scoured the internet to find clothes for women with pockets, so that you don’t have to, and I’m adding more all the time.

This website shouldn’t need to exist because it shouldn’t be a problem but as it is, I’m so happy to have stumbled across this site and have bookmarked it as a first-stop for my next shopping spree.
