The best kind of podcasts are those that have a simple premise that can run and run. Encyclopedia Womannica is exactly one of those. Hoping to give some attention to those women from history that have either been overlooked completely or have not had the attention they should have had.

Over the course of a year, the hosts aim to feature the profile of a historical icon, as the podcast blurb explains:

Thinking back to our history classes growing up, we had one question: Where the ladies at? Enter, Encyclopedia Womannica. In just 5 minutes a day, learn about different incredible women from throughout history. In Wonder Media Network’s brand new podcast, we’re telling the stories of women you may or may not know - but definitely should.

The shows are just five minutes or less which is perfect for a bitesize history lesson. Each month features a different genre, the first was pioneers (including Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Coccinelle, and Queen Victoria - who you probably have heard of), and the second is dreamers. Whether you know the name of the featured person or not, there’s usually a fact or two in there that you didn’t realise, and that makes it an interesting and fun listen. I highly recommend it.
