Superleague round 2 - Assen

Published May 14, 2010

This weekend, Franck will return to action for Girondins de Bordeaux at the second round of the Superleague Formula series. This time they are at Assen, and the official SF website describes it as thus:

Better known as the cathedral of motorcycling, the 2.830 mile circuit located in north eastern Holland should prove a real challenge for the championship’s V12-powered 750bhp single seaters thanks to it being specifically designed with motorbikes in mind.

But then again, they also say the one man to keep an eye on is Bourdais, and we all know that is the wrong Frenchman.

There’s a full track map and schedule of the weekend available here but all we need to know is that Race 1 gets underway at 10am UK time (I think) on Sunday. Just time to watch it before the Monaco GP gets underway.

In some rather bizarre scheduling, the third round of Superleague is next weekend, after we have waited over a month to get from round 1 to round 2. Weird. They’ll be at Magny-Cours, meaning Franck will have raced for three weekends in a row. Like buses, eh?

We can talk about that later though, for now, turn your attention to Assen.
