Thoughts
So yea, look, I’ve never been Ed Sheeran’s biggest fan but lately I’ve softened towards him. Divide did quite a lot to help on that score. But then this album caused me some consternation too because it features lots of awesome people but also Eminem (who almost singlehandedly ruined P!nk’s album).
But forget all that. I listened to it and I loved it! Fantastic collaborations but before all that they are some great songs. Catchy and funky, it’s Ed at his more hip-hop best, there’s definitely rapping involved (so steer clear if you’re upset by him doing that, I think he’s pretty good).
It’s almost impossible to pick a favourite song from the batch, but Best Part of Me is excellent and I quite enjoy South of the Border as well. This one will be listened to many times in the future, I reckon.
