0:36 That looks lovely and green. Mmm, forests.
3:05 I can’t see Nicole and Nicholas as a couple.
4:00 I want their house.
5:06 Safe pass code is 5578.
7:13 I feel as though she may have escaped that way before.
9:30 They have zero chemistry. Although maybe they are just meant to be acting that way.
14:14 It can’t be that odd to not have a cellphone on you. I don’t carry mine with me around the house.
16:00 A fake code that acts real but calls the police is genius!
25:45 The bandits, they are falling apart a little bit.
26:04 Are they aware that one of their party is just getting stoned and watching TV?
27:27 And trying on other people’s clothes!
30:32 He has a nice smile.
33:48 Seems as though the brother was more keen than she was. Why blame her?
34:40 She’s smarter than she looks.
37:30 The burglar has a sob story.
40:57 “We never owned this house, it owned us.”
43:51 The burglar made up his sob story.
48:11 This family seem awfully good at pick pocketing.
51:35 They even have an endless pool! No wonder all their money is tied up in there.
53:50 At some point, the burglars will have to admit there is no money to be had!
54:59 Wow, that alarm system gives the police a lot of detail! Which window is broken and everything.
1:00:20 She’s still not convinced, that police woman.
1:02:11 Is this another lying sob story? It sounds more believable.
1:02:54 “It’s really bad mojo to kill a taxman.”
1:10:22 Who calls themselves a cuckold?
1:17:09 The bandits are definitely falling apart.
1:19:28 “Man, you could have saved us all a lot of aggravation.”
1:22:34 Nail guns just seem like a bad idea all round.
1:25:08 Will they get into trouble for killing people?

Conclusions

Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman are both pretty big stars, so we thought this would be worth checking out. Never hurts to watch a bit of an action movie, and clocking in at just about 90 minutes made it even more appealing to me!

I think it’s fascinating that this film made only about $25k in the box office and was yanked after 10 days. It broke records with the speed it went to DVD - 18 days. I mean, it wasn’t great, I will admit to that. A lot of shrieking, some pretty unbelievable villains, but an okay premise and a plot that wound its way towards the end through some medium-level twists and turns. It wasn’t my favourite film of the year, I agree, but I have seen an awful lot worse!
