0:52 The intro logos are already giving me chills.
5:02 The Mario Bros plumbing ad has a whiff of PJ and Duncan about it.
8:34 Love the little riff on a level end there, castle and everything.
12:50 Mario is playing Nintendo. Nintendo inception right here.
21:19 The zombie turtle things are absolutely terrifying.

37:32 This Peaches song could use some work.
40:24 I’m trying to hate this but he just did the little waiting around hip bump move.
44:55 YAAAAS karting to Take On Me is life.
49:10 “It is on like Donkey Kong.” They’re the only people actually allowed to say that.
54:34 Mushroom smug face.
59:58 “That is how you princess.”
1:05:58 “I’ll marry you, just don’t hurt my toads.” Not what you expect to hear in a proposal.
1:11:26 He turned brown and started to fly with his tail. That’s TAILS.
1:12:38 Luigi is SO USELESS.
1:19:20 Ah shit, no he’s not.
1:22:30 Who do I write to about my questions regarding the Super Mario Bros name?

This is pretty much exactly what you think it’s going to be - bright and colourful and a huge cast of voice actors and their best efforts at bringing to life these well-known characters. It’s not brilliant, but it’s entertaining and there’s enough nostalgia to pull at some emotions, so it gets by.

The trouble is it’s a slow start, trying to ground this nonsense story into the real world somehow, and give the characters some backstory and character, although I’m not sure it really worked. In all honesty, Seth Rogen stole the show and that made it more of a Donkey Kong movie than a Mario one, but hey, it was fun!
