The Longest Yard is the story of pro quarterback Paul Crewe and former college champion and coach Nate Scarboro, who are doing time in the same prison. Asked to put together a team of inmates to take on the guards, Crewe enlists the help of Scarboro to coach the inmates to victory in a football game 'fixed' to turn out quite another way.

Conclusions
I think we got to this one because we have enjoyed the last few Adam Sandler films we’ve watched and were curious what else he had done. The trailer seemed interesting enough, although I’m always worried about films centred around American sports that I know very little about.
Really enjoyed this film, although it was not what I was expecting at all. I thought it was going to be all out comedy like we have seen recently, but it was far more serious than that. I also wasn’t aware until afterwards that this was a remake. The comedy that was in there was good though, laughed a lot and liked the story.
Didn’t really like all the punching. The twist in the middle was shocking. Liked the ending very much.
