1:12 Hey, fairy tale references. These are ones I’m getting and Mr C isn’t. Hoorah!
2:21 Actual Heff.
3:35 “Unfold me.”
6:15 That kinda sounds like the worst juice ever. Chilli powder?
9:43 If that was the car she came in, where have they kept it for god knows how many years?
13:05 I’m not a big heels person but how is she walking in those shoes?
18:02 Are you allowed to say that about Charlie Sheen?
23:10 “What’s a… philancopy?
29:32 The deep voice to remember names is properly freaky.
33:31 “Always say yes to karaoke,” that’s not a life motto I’m going to live by.
38:46 Pig-pig!
39:08 This is like Clueless times six.
48:32 Eek, never have a hot dog in public!
53:26 Love the Forrest Gump reference, but… she must have had the brace for a reason!
58:20 A little bit disapproving of the “boys don’t like smart girls” attitude.
1:03:50 “So I have to learn things about things and stuff? About topics?”
1:07:59 You know it’s a bad date when you have to apologise for gravity.
1:18:49 Cole Trickle!!
1:29:56 “I gotta meet this frickin’ bird!” That little bird does tell a lot of tales.

Conclusions

This wouldn’t be my first choice in film watching but our reasons for indulging are threefold. 1) It’s short. 2) It’s easygoing for frazzled brains. 3) It has Emma Stone! I’m always keen to see Emma, even if it is a film that she probably would rather forget.

Overall, it wasn’t the worst film I’ve seen and it had some good references, crazy characters, and some ditzy lines that amused. I didn’t really like the whole “makeover suddenly makes them popular” thing, but it was somewhat offset by the fact that it worked both ways. The moral in the end, of just be yourself, was worthwhile, I’m just not sure it went the right route of getting there.

Still, an unusual concept and fun enough when you’ve got a glass of wine in your hand.
