1:37 Loving the old style credits. Sepia and everything!
3:24 It’s Kripke!
5:10 Sandy appears to be a cat lady without her own actual cat.
9:54 “God, what are you, Spock?”
13:40 She is the scariest cop ever, she threw a watermelon at him!
16:07 Oh my god, with the actual Biff. He has such a deep voice.
23:56 Difference between having a right to know, and wanting to know. LIke that.
28:38 Brilliant to demand an echo too.
30:15 Who knew you could do competitive door knocking?
37:11 “I don’t know what to say to that, now I just feel bad for you.”

1:14:29 That’s not the first cheers that’s ended with a broken glass. It won’t be the last!
1:20:03 Jeez, this is an exhausting family.
1:26:12 Hey, this is the bit where the cop gets taken off the case!
1:33:21 There have been a few moments I’ve gasped in this. Guy falling off a balcony onto a car was one of them!
1:42:48 Since Sandy learned to swear, she’s got very violent!
1:48:14 I’ve just realised I didn’t know the names of any of the characters except Larkin.
1:52:08 She stole the cat!

Conclusions

I was looking forward to this after seeing the trailer - I’m a huge fan of Sandra, but was a little bit wary of the partnership with Melissa. We thought Identity Thief was going to feature a great comedy duo, one of whom was Ms McCarthy, and it wasn’t the best. But, I’m ready to watch anything Sandy does (except maybe that Blind Side one).

Mostly, this was very good. It took a long time to get going, and actually the bits where Sandra and Melissa were doing their own thing were not as much fun. When they finally got together and started working as a duo, it was a lot better. Aside from that, the only real problem I had with it was how predictable it was in terms of a cop story - as mentioned above, the heart to heart in the bar and then being taken off the case, and then actually winning the day.

But that wasn’t all bad, because it allowed the comedy to hang on a familiar story. The bar scenes in particular were very funny.
