Conclusions
On the one hand, this film suffers from not having any of the original cast members in it. (Except that cameo, the amazing cameo, more on that later!) It’s not the first time a series has shed all its stars, but perhaps it is knowing they are back in the later ones that makes this one feel quite so jarring.
On the other hand, it just really is a terrible film. The acting is pretty bad, particularly from the leading man. I liked Bow Wow and really enjoyed getting to know the character Han, but otherwise it was some poor performances. The drifting sequences were amazing, some of them mindblowing, particularly around that crazy road and the intense race at the end, but sadly that couldn’t sustain an hour and a half of one of the worst films we’ve seen in a long while. We would definitely have used the twenty minute rule here if we weren’t in the middle of a series and not half convinced these characters would pop up again in other movies.
