Conclusions
I’m surprised I haven’t seen this one before, it feels like it’s a film that’s part of the collective consciousness of the world, a piece of culture. And having now seen it, it’s also essentially an extended version of the first episode of Ugly Betty, which I loved.
It’s a good film, mostly because of the fascinating characters. The story itself is kinda predictable, but how the characters deal with their situations is interesting. Meryl Streep is brilliant in her cool calculating quietness, and Stanley Tucci is amazing at explaining why the world of fashion is important - he almost convinced me who couldn’t care less about clothes. Oh and we can’t forget Emily Blunt with all that eye makeup on!
Overall fun frolics, a film stacked full of great quotes and music, perhaps not a film that will change our lives but definitely a good one to add to the collection.
