Thoughts
After the disaster of Eat Pray Love, it was back to the Netflix comedy section and this one jumped out based only on the section of the trailer where Gina Rodriguez is crying and talking to a stranger. That bit just whizzed by in a fast-paced movie that was aimed at a much younger and hipper audience than me but was still very entertaining.
I liked the format of the story - the highs and lows of a final night on the town for a group of friends, with the flashbacks of a relationship slowly falling apart. Eventually the two strands meet and I was really happy that the end was an affirmation of female strength rather than dropping back into the old familiar.
The three leads were diverse with incredible chemistry together. They were a bit too enthusiastic for drugs for my taste, but I love how supportive they were of each other and how they all grew a significant amount over the course of the day in question. And Brittany Snow continues to be a highlight for me.
