Conclusions
Somehow, I managed to get to this point in my life without seeing this film. Mr C was pretty aghast when he found this out, and nagged me to see it. Mostly, so I would start getting some of the references we have seen in other things.
Eventually, with a glass of wine in hand, I succumbed.
It was SO GOOD. I’m gutted that I haven’t seen this before, because it’s the kind of film I’d watch over and over and over. Amusing and witty people with interesting relationships, set to nostalgic music.
I’m not totally convinced that Richard Gere is worth all the bother, but I’m totally in love with Vivian. Outspoken, out of place, caring enough but equally carefree, if it wasn’t for her job, I’d want to be just like her.
It’s unusual for old classic movies to be seen with fresh eyes and still appreciated in the same way, but this one totally had me from the start.
