Conclusions
As my interest in Mark Wahlberg continues to grow, this had to be on our list of films to watch, although the premise seemed a bit odd and the trailer didn’t peak our interest massively. Still, it looked good, and it was on the Playstation store, as we investigated the Sony option of renting films.
Things I didn’t know about this film before I started watching: it was based on a true story and it was directed by Michael Bay. It wasn’t at all what I’d expect from Mr Bay, low budget and terrible effects where there were any.
But that didn’t mean it was bad. It was weird. Kooky and interesting, it started out very well, funny in places but mostly just a fascinating study. Gradually, it got a bit too gory and lost its edge a little, and by the end I was glad it was over before anything else could happen. But it was an experience, and I very much enjoyed Rebel Wilson - haven’t seen her in a bad role yet!
