| 1:17 | Do conductors get that into it they kick along with the can-can? |
| 5:20 | “On the hill near Paris..” Is there a hill near Paris?? |
| 5:20 | Oh god, Baz’s stylings are to die for. |

| 50:11 | For ages I’ve been like, I don’t get this but actually I do. It’s our late night slightly tipsy YouTube music video trawls. |
| 58:12 | The foreshadowing and stuff on this is starting to stress me out. |
| 1:02:35 | Way to ruin Madonna for everyone ever. |

Thoughts
So look, we may not have been exactly in the right frame of mind to start watching another film - it was late, we had been drinking. But this was so not good. I love Baz Luhrmann’s work, so arty, so well-crafted, so fitting with strong music that gives you a sensory overload sort of vibe and really sucks you in.
The trouble with this is, I didn’t find the story particularly interesting. It didn’t grab me at all and then I didn’t think it sustained a full two hour’s worth. The songs were good and the cast amazing but somehow all the individual pieces didn’t come together to make a coherent work.
I’m disappointed because I love a good musical, it’s just that this wasn’t one.
