Set in Los Angeles, in the near future, 'Her' follows Theodore Twombly, a complex, soulful man who makes his living writing touching, personal letters for other people. Heartbroken after the end of a long relationship, he becomes intrigued with a new, advanced operating system, which promises to be an intuitive and unique entity in its own right. Upon initiating it, he is delighted to meet 'Samantha,' a bright, female voice who is insightful, sensitive and surprisingly funny. As her needs and desires grow, in tandem with his own, their fiendship deepens into an eventual love for each other.

Conclusions
The concept of this one has intrigued me since I first heard about it - not just the odd idea of a man falling in love with his operating system, but what kind of a fulfilling story could come out of that.
It turns out, not a very good one! I thought this film had everything it needed to have to be great - excellent cast, great acting, moody shots, brilliant arty feeling to it, and yet it just didn’t deliver. There was something missing.
A day or two later and I’m still not 100% sure what it was. Maybe I just didn’t care about this guy and his operating system. Maybe it just didn’t make sense that he could fall for her so quickly, or that lots of people would be doing the same thing around the city.
I read a piece that compared this to Gravity and All is Lost, because it was one actor holding most of the screen time. But it had nowhere near as much going for it as those two. Everything in place for a great film, but in the end, just kinda boring.
