Thoughts
This was a much better outing for Bond after the disaster that was Moonraker. It wasn’t one of the best, but felt very much like your standard 007 adventure. I quite liked that he gradually amassed a team around him, so that the final action sequence was a team effort rather than a solo spy mission. The ice skater was a little intense and scary but Topol was fantastic.
Some of the stunts were fantastic - the bobsleigh sequence in particular was hair-raising, and following the little yellow Beatle down those steep hills also a lot of fun. There isn’t much more to say, as the film didn’t stand out against all the rest of the Bonds particularly, but it was at least a lot more fun than its predecessor. Incredible that we’ve only got two more Roger Moore films left!
