1:51 You can’t get in a car like that without breaking a rib, surely!
4:09 Cheerleaders falling down has to be a bad omen.
6:27 Coaches have anger management issues in films a lot, but I’m surprised at the language!
10:26 “We’re athletes, we can do anything.”
14:43 Love the girl who says “I’m just saying” to everything. I do that.
18:30 Cheering the whole way there is more annoying than ‘are we there yet?’
22:56 Interestingly, this film is very good at introducing an awful lot of characters in a short amount of time.
26:47 “Prohibidado.”
30:23 The family pom poms! I bet they get threadbare after a couple of generations.
31:56 Day moon!
36:37 “Not that funny a story, not even a story really. Just a fact.”
40:20 The mascots are funny. They couldn’t really spend all time in mascot-wear.
45:35 Ew, the cheerleaders reciting the lines from a cheerleading film.
48:31 His moon knowledge impresses me.
57:39 “That’s right, I’m awesome.” I like his style.
1:02:10 He might be trying to make a point, but reading someone’s diary out loud is the worst act ever.
1:09:56 Panda on a tricycle!
1:14:00 How old is she?
1:22:00 Carly fries.

Thoughts

There’s a sort of unwritten Film Watch rule that I don’t really bother making notes on the rubbishy movies - you know the type, teen cheerleader and beer films. Just like Fired Up.

It turns out that Mr C had watched this at some point, and when I was feeling run down and exhausted after a morning of studying, I said I was ready for a nap. He countered with a new-fangled theory that instead of napping, an afternoon non-taxing Film Watch would do the trick, and this was just the title to test it out.

It worked! I felt refreshed after watching, and also got to enjoy this along the way. I thought it was going to be awful, but it was really funny and not too predictable either. The main pair worked really well together, it felt like they were a new generation of Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn.

It’s not ground-breaking, and it won’t win any awards, but it was a fab pick-me-up during a stressful day, full of snappy dialogue and a character journey that worked!
