Thoughts
This was a different film to what I was expecting, and I went into it thinking it wasn’t going to be particularly good. The start was very slow and the twenty minute rule almost came into effect, but it had just enough intrigue to keep watching and in the end I’m glad that I didn’t switch off.
The supporting cast was surprising, Kyle Machlaclan was barely in it and then Domhnall Gleeson popped up, as well as the lovely Fiona Shaw, obviously. One of the best moments was our main character actually telling her friend everything and sharing the problem, that never happens in movies, does it?
The twists and turns were interesting, although I was a little bit on the fence about how far this woman went for her kid… the child who just moments before was bashing her head against a wall. But it was well acted by Julianne and Sydney, and came to a good ending. Not at all what I was expecting, and not perfect by any stretch, but definitely worth a watch.
