0:43 Already I want a minion of my own and the film hasn’t even started yet.
1:44 Julie Andrews!
3:19 Ooh, who is going to check out the pyramids to make sure they’re not inflatable?
4:04 Hehehe, I love him.
5:34 Panda rug! Now I have to not like him.
9:06 I like the idea of having a screaming crowd ready to cheer you up whenever you want.
13:46 That youngest kid is just like Boo.
14:37 That’s my kind of parallel parking!
19:37 Tiny elephant!!
22:08 Star Wars should have had air fight sequences like that.
23:33 He’s playing a Wii. Evil people play Wii’s too.
24:12 Fists coming out of the wall, it’s just like Total Wipeout.
25:43 “Liiightbulbbb.” I’m going to be saying that.
29:15 “How do I remove it? Is there a command?” Sadly not with kiddies.
32:54 “Somebody broke that.” I’m going to be using that too!
36:30 Minions on the ceiling! Blatantly stolen from the Willy Wonka movie though.
37:11 The oldest girl is voiced by the girl from Drake and Josh, right?
39:10 Woah, I’d stop drinking Coke if it had that effect!
46:53 They made the minion into a glow stick!
50:33 “Look at that fluffy unicorn! It’s so fluffy I want to die!”
52:44 “It’s so fluffy!!”
54:57 Just had to explain the concept of Stuffed Crust to Mr C.
57:54 Minions have resumés!
1:02:47 “Pretty please?” “The physical appearance of the please makes no difference.”
1:06:13 Russell Brand is pretty good in this. Not a fan of his normally.
1:12:17 Great recall on the gravity minion. I’d forgotten!
1:12:48 They have a minion mission control.
1:14:42 That bit was in the trailer and still it was funny.
1:21:35 How many times can one person be crushed by the moon before they give up?
1:29:46 Woot! Bonus points for extra stuff during the credits.

Thoughts

I always knew I wanted to see this since I saw the trailer when the one yellow thing punched the other yellow thing. I was sold. I didn’t know much else about it, other than I heard Steve Carrell talking about it on a radio show once.

Another film that made us laugh a significant amount! We were both in need of something simple and amusing, and this was both of those. I would say it doesn’t have the multi-layer elements that make a kids film really something special, but if you just want to zone out in front of the TV for 90 minutes, it’s perfect.

I don’t want to make a habit out of putting clips into these posts, but you have to watch this to the end. It’s SO fluffy!
