On the night before an old friend's wedding, three frisky bridesmaids go searching for a little fun but find much more than they bargained for. With lovely Becky set to marry her handsome sweetheart, Dale, the remaining members of her high school clique reunite for one last bachelorette bacchanal in the Big Apple. Regan is an overachieving, uber-Maid of Honor who's secretly smarting over the fact that she's not the first to marry, while Gena is a whip-smart sarcastic who's actually a closeted romantic, and Katie is a ditzy beauty who loves the good life. But when Becky insists on keeping the bachelorette party tame, the women proceed with an after-hours celebration of their own.

2:02 | That’s Mr C! Don’t bother with the dessert menu, I already know I want cheesecake. |
10:09 | It’s bad when you have to tell an adult to use their indoor voice. |
13:12 | I just have such a problem with MJ, and it’s Spiderman scripts fault, not hers. |
14:42 | “Wait, I took French?” |
23:18 | My favourite of the bachelorettes keeps changing. At the moment, it’s with Isla Fisher. |
24:42 | I’ve seen that rip at least twice in the trailer but it makes me gasp every time. |
31:04 | “You’re being nice and it’s scaring me, what do you need?” |
35:40 | I’m not so sure that asking for the parameters is the way to start a lap dance. |
39:28 | Woah, complicated politics in the midst of all this fun and games. |
45:57 | Love that he put her in the door of the limo and she popped out the roof. |
54:08 | I’d be mad if someone threw my phone out of a window, too. |
54:53 | She ruined the moment by having to pop to the loo, that never happens in the movies! |
57:49 | Aww, mixtape. Actual cassette player and everything. |
59:41 | “There’s drunk going on…” |
1:06:38 | She’s putting an amazing brave face on it, but she’s going to crack at some point. |
1:13:40 | “Isn’t that dress supposed to be…” |
1:17:09 | I can’t imagine how gross those two are. Been up all night, no showers, etc, etc. |
1:18:57 | I like toasting a bottle, a phone and a cigarette. |
Conclusions
iTunes persuaded us to rent and watch this one because it proclaimed that it was in the cinemas and available to rent at the same time, which is a BIG DEAL. That wasn’t a lie, but it’s slightly less impressive than we might have thought because it’s only in selected cinemas and as far as I can tell, none of the big ones. But still, the film looked okay and with a bit of wine, we were good to go.
We thought this was going to be like Bridesmaids, and although it seemed like a mashup of that and The Hangover, it wasn’t really the rip-off we anticipated. It was actually quite funny in places, and although the story had a bit of a sickly ending, it was good to journey with these not-all-that-likeable characters as they navigated the tricky waters of friendships and reunions and moving on.
