Delmer Daves directs this 1957 Western starring Van Heflin and Glenn Ford. Hard-up rancher Dan Evans is holding ruthless outlaw Ben Wade at gunpoint waiting for a train to Yuma where the authorities have put up a $200 reward. However, Wade offers him $10,000 to set him free; the bounty will ease his financial difficulties, but Wade's offer will set him up for life. Thus begins a cat-and-mouse wait for the 3:10 train with Evans' wife pleading for him to take the money and save himself and Wade's gang attempting to free him.

Thoughts
I don’t know what drew me to this film. I know there was a remake recently, but I didn’t actually realise it was a remake until I spotted this one tucked away on the iPlayer. I think I just felt like something a bit black & white.
I wasn’t really expecting to like the film at all, but it was pretty interesting throughout. I did struggle to tell the characters apart, but when it got to being just about the two, particularly once they got to that room, it was good. Interested to see the remake now, too.
