1:21 How bad does that coach want to say ‘get your head in the game.’
6:26 Haha, he said ‘we’re in this together.’
9:28 “What’s crack-a-lacking?” That’s not going to catch on.
13:35 Haha, ears in and it’s not even plugged into anything. I like her style.
15:54 “What kind of bridesmaid would I be if I didn’t hold your hand during the divorce?”
18:37 Dude, Ned sleeps in the best bed ever!!
20:08 Trying not to constantly compare, but honestly. Big never had a light saber battle in it.
31:16 I always find it weird these kids driving to school, Audi or not.
36:17 Gaffa tape fixes and ruins everything.
41:18 Teenage boy food is disgusting.
43:35 Thank god someone recognises him!
51:56 “I’ll just get you a shovel then?” Sounds like she could use the shovel.
54:24 That garden is amazing.
1:01:23 “This is some other dad’s problem.”
1:12:11 “I don’t know how to act… normal.” Aww, same!
1:16:22 No way did the Elves come up with a word for arugula.
1:23:29 Love the way the judge said “let’s pretend that’s real.”
1:33:36 “You’re the best decision I ever made, I just forgot.”

We were looking for something really trashy to watch and thought this upside down take on Big might be the one. However, I wasn’t expecting it to actually be very good! I think our low expectations made it seem better than it actually was, but still, it stood up! The premise of the magical janitor was a bit rubbish, but I think the writers were like ‘we can’t beat Zoltar so let’s just get it over with’.

Once the flip happens, it’s a lot of fun. Ned is a great sidekick, although his harrassment of the headteacher is a bit much. Zac Efron is his charming self, although it does have that slight Back to the Future problem of crossing familial lines.

Still, every time we thought there might be a flaw “surely the mum would recognise her high school sweetheart?” they sorted it (she did!). Not perfect but far more entertaining than it had any right to be.
