Like the deliriously funny contributions of Rob Brydon, Lee Mack and David Mitchell in the hugely successful panel game, here is a delightful collection of 100 fibs that all of us can recognise. Lies like: I didn't even notice she was pretty; I'm working from home tomorrow; and wow, your tattoo looks really... interesting. Written in the same warm, witty and inspired tone that's made the TV show such a hit, the book uncovers the little deceptions that strike a chord with all of us. There are the lies we tell others, the lies people tell us and the lies we tell ourselves. Each entry in the book is laugh-out-loud funny, and filled with more than a little bit of painful truth.

Thoughts

Love this TV programme so was curious to see what the book would be like. It’s in the same style, with the same dry humour, and does exactly what it says on the tin - runs through a list of 100 or so lies that you have probably told, or heard, or are in some way very much aware of.

It’s nice to know you’re not alone in some of the white lies you may have told, so in that sense it’s a good book. It’s not particularly groundbreaking though, you could probably guess at half of them before reading.

The conversations between the presenters were the best part of the book, so it was a bit disappointing that they were few and far between. But overall, a fun and super quick read.
