Review

Having been focused on my personal finances for a while now, it was interesting to read this book about how to keep tabs on your pennies in the modern world. Banking and finance is undergoing a bit of a digital revolution so it’s important to stay on top of it and Anne Boden is here to help.

Boden is founder of modern online bank Starling and she shares her insights into how and why it felt necessary to create a new era of banking. Then she goes on to highlight the ways in which personal finances are changing, with links and app suggestions for how to roll with the changes. Subjects include insurance, current accounts, mortgages and investments, and shock, horror, pensions.

It seems like a lot to take in but all you have to do is read a little at a time, look at the apps, see if they can help you out at all, and adapt your financial lifestyle. Taking more of an interest can only pay dividends in the long run.
