Thoughts

Now that Rhyme and Sachs have been partnered up for a while, it’s nice to see new characters getting a look in. We’ve got Pulaski, who was featured previously but really steps into the new boy role here, and of course Kathryn Dance, who gets her own spin off series after this first appearance.

I like that there are two distinct cases here, the friction that causes in Rhyme’s HQ, although it did get confusing sometimes keeping on top of which case was being discussed at any one time. The layers upon layers of Rhyme’s case in particular were a little mind-boggling, and you wonder how any mastermind could come up with such a thing.

But overall, a solid entry in the Rhyme canon, and one that just leads very nicely into the next book of the series.
