Completely made up about it

I really didn’t think The Completely Made Up Adventures of Dick Turpin was going to be any good. A new comedy series on Apple TV, launched at the start of March, the show features Noel Fielding as the title character and it leans in to his brand of nonsensical, kind of dream-like situations and comedy. You obviously have to like what Fielding does to get on board with this show, but even if you don’t there may be something in there for you because the guest cast is ENORMOUS.

When you can gather the likes of Greg Davies, Diane Morgan, Jessica Hynes, Hugh Bonneville, Tamsin Grieg, Mark Heap and many more, then you’re starting to talk my language.

Along with that, the show is funny, irreverant, taking things out of context and throwing in anachronisms all over the place. They are short, sharp episodes, and sadly only six in a series, so you can watch this all in the smallest amount of time. I hope it is picked up for a second series because this is escapism in its purist form.
