A lucky find for the indecisive traveller

Published December 11, 2016

At the moment, travelling is like a distant dream - a wonderful idea full of experiences that would be fabulous, but that is just out of reach. Time, money, effort, life, all those things are getting in the way.

But that doesn’t stop me letting the dream run wild, and I found an app that is such an incredible concept, I have to share, even if I haven’t experienced it myself. It’s for the more spontaneous and random traveller, someone who isn’t really sure what they want to do.

Lucky Trip app

Lucky Trip indulges the indecisive traveller by making the decisions for you. All you have to do is select the maximum amount you’d be willing to spend on any one trip - anywhere from £150 to £1000+ - and then hit the lucky trip button.

Just like the lucky dip from which it gets its name, you really don’t know what you’re going to get. The app selects you a destination, having scanned for the best deals on flights, a hotel to stay in (with options), and an activity to keep you entertained. Depending on your budget, you’ll get longer trips or more exotic locations, but even the cheapest of options conjured up things I would never have discovered by myself.

For example, for £150 you can have a trip to Lithuania, stay in a reasonable hotel for a couple of nights, and visit a museum. Brilliant! For a more expensive deal, you could go to Belgrade, stay in some gorgeous serviced apartments, and consume some of the best looking pizza I’ve seen in a while.

You can book the trip directly in the app, and although I haven’t gone through any transactions myself, it looks like it would all work quite easily and seamlessly. But as a thought-provoking, idea-inspiring, and overall motivational guide to the world, I think it’s a great place to start when thinking about your next trip.
