A case of mistaken identity

Published March 31, 2013

This year, Friends finally became available to download, in HD. We had been waiting for a long time to get the digital versions and were over the moon when there was a series 1-10 bundle.

The glorious images are now in high definition, and a more sensible shape, rather than the square footage that was originally broadcast. Unfortunately, this can sometimes be a bit more revealing than the programme makers might have otherwise liked.

I’ve been enjoying a Friends marathon this Easter weekend, whilst working on some less-than-stimulating admin stuff. As I was glancing at the screen, I spotted this gem.

Here’s Phoebe talking to Monica about who gets to give a guy bad news first.

Monica

And here’s Phoebe, one second later, talking to… not Monica?

Not Monica

Oops.

Clearly a reshoot, as Phoebe’s parting is in a different place, and there are different people in the background. Still, they might have got away with it before, but not with a completely different face in the foreground!
