Children in Need - Showing our spots

Published November 22, 2010

I still haven’t quite figured out what the theme of Show Your Spots meant this year, unless it had to to do with John Barrowman’s suit, which is very likely.

Anyway, remember I mentioned I’d be Factbyte Factboxing the Children in Need charity telethon spectacular?

It happened, and I did! Seven long hours worth of glitz and pop and cheese and a bizarre cross of Eastenders and Coronation Street. It was fantastic fun, and only took me the rest of the weekend to recover.

In the preparations, I said I might possibly post the reply of the coverage here, but there are a couple of reasons why I’m not going to. Firstly, we had a dedicated thread over on Sidepodcast for live commenting purposes, and it makes sense to keep all the information together. Secondly, to export FBFB content to Sidepodcast takes about five seconds. To bring it to a completely different blog would be a copy/paste/format job, and for seven hours worth of coverage, that doesn’t sound like much fun. I’ve dispatched Mr C to contemplate a better way of doing it.

Whilst doing all of the above, I also managed to find time for a spot of soul-searching and may be in the midst of a mid-life crisis. You can read more about that over on Sidepodcast too.
