Taking the 8 Plus for a walk

I’ve needed a new phone for a while, and was umming and ahhing about what specific iPhone to go for. In the end, I went for the 8 Plus and now I wish I had shut up and bought it sooner because the dual-lens camera is totally incredible. I’m not a natural photographer, but every single photo I’ve taken this past week or so is the best photo I’ve ever taken, thanks to the camera.

Super slo-mo at the touch of a button

This weekend, we had chance to test out the slow-motion feature on my new iPhone. It’s something we’ve been excited about (as there aren’t that many major feature upgrades on the phone), but we needed some time and something fast moving to video. Step up some trusty alcohol. I love it. Although, I’ve realised that many of the videos I take tend to be slower things that need speeding up, but I hope to look at things a different way in future!

Friday Five - Things I miss about my HTC

I’ve had my iPhone for almost two weeks now, and I love it. All those hideous and disgusting phrases like “it just works” and “it makes me want to do more with it” are all true. I’ve got posts in the pipeline (by that I mean in my mind) regarding the highs and lows of life with Siri and what a revelation the camera is, but a quick summary is… it’s great.

Android vs iPhone - An update and a decision

After my posts just over a month ago, wherein I decided to give my Android phone one last chance to convince me to replace it with another similar model, I had some fantastic suggestions of apps to use. Dolphin Browser and Fast Reboot were a revelation to me, and made for some more interesting minutes spent browsing. However, the irritations are still there, and after six weeks, I finally made the decision and ordered my upgrade - the iPhone 4S.

Android versus iPhone - First world problems alert

For the last eighteen months, I’ve been using the HTC Desire as my mobile method of contacting the outside world, but my contract is due to expire soon and that leaves me with something of a dilemma. These mobile phone contracts are so long that choosing the next device is quite an important decision. At the moment, it leaves me scratching my head. Just a hunch The iPhone has never really done it for me and I’ve never been able to explain why.

It means 'very talkative'

It means 'very talkative'

There are a plethora of Twitter apps for mobile phones, and I know the iPhone is over-run with them. As a G1 user, the Android platform has less options, but there are a few worth looking at. The one I have settled on is Loquacious, which is actually a paid for app. It’s only a couple of dollars, though, so that didn’t put me off. There’s a 14-day fully featured demo, and I can honestly say the one thing that really sold it for me is that when you type a tweet - there’s a character countdown!
