Who is the Mandalorian anyway?

Who is the Mandalorian anyway?

Season three of The Mandalorian wrapped up last month to very mixed reviews, and it’s taken me a while to decide how I feel about it. Overall, I liked it. I don’t think it quite lived up to the hype and quality of previous seasons but there was plenty in there to amuse. One of the biggest complaints I’ve seen is about the pacing of the show, which was, admittedly, a bit off.

The Musical. The Series. The Music.

The Musical. The Series. The Music.

When Disney Plus first launched, my only focus was on watching episodes of The Simpsons and devouring The Mandalorian as quickly as possible. Hearing of a TV show based on the High School Musical franchise, though, my interest was piqued. And when I heard that it was a docu-drama style show about teenagers who go to the actual school where the movies were filmed and then decide to put on a production of the musical based off said movies and all of this called High School Musical: The Musical: The Series?

Living the Disney Life

A while back, at the height of my new-found Star Wars obsession, I realised I needed to find a way to watch the Star Wars Rebels TV show. I discovered the DisneyLife iOS app, which allowed me to watch the series, and as long as I watched it within 30 days (which I did), then I could cancel the subscription and only have been charged for one month’s use. I did all of the above and then forgot about the app, until it was updated just ahead of this Christmas period.

That tale as old as time

Beauty and the Beast was never one of my favourite Disney films but with Emma Watson in the live action remake, I’m interested to see how it comes to the big screen. A teaser trailer was released this past week, with just a few glimpses of the lady in question, and no sign of the beast at all. I’m a bit concerned that this teaser doesn’t really do much to make it look live action, up until you see Emma’s lovely face.

Branching out

There’s some very interesting work going on at Pixar: The Incredibles looks very good, and the cute lamb in Bounding is especially sweet. I’m glad that Pixar are splitting from Disney after the next couple of films, because it seems completely unfair that Disney get to do whatever they like - as long as they pay the right money. The right to make sequel after sequel even if Pixar don’t want them to is pushing their luck a bit.
