A driving hazard

A driving hazard

The background: I love Peter Kay’s Car Share, I truly believe it to be one of the best TV shows of the decade. When I shared the show with Mr C, he was also on board - comedy and music aren’t too hard to argue with. On the flip side, one thing we argue about more than we probably should is the guilt of the protagonist of Richard Marx’s song Hazard.

On the record - Was Peter Kay right all along?

Before we get into the album adventure for 2019, it’s worth a quick reminder of why this project even started and if we have made any progress on the original premise. Three years ago, it all kicked off when a conversation on Peter Kay’s Car Share caused a real life debate in our household. I was on Kayleigh’s side, that you could have whatever album you wanted as your favourite, whether it is a compilation or not.

Endings are hard but important

Endings are hard but important

I’m so gutted by the news that Peter Kay isn’t planning on any more Car Share. Plans change and things have a habit of being resurrected when you least expect it, but for the moment, Kay suggests the show is done. There’s not going to be a series three so it won’t ever happen. You’ve got to get out while the going’s good. No Christmas special, no… There’s only so much you can do in a car and the last thing you want to do is ruin it because I think it’s a lovely thing.

Sharing the love

Sharing the love

The fact that Peter Kay’s Car Share was brilliant and received a lot of love is probably not news to many, given that the series aired in April last year. It was something that passed Mr C by, however, and whilst I watched it over and over and grew to love it more and more, I felt protective of it in that way that means you can’t really recommend it to someone.
