Hotel California by Eagles

I only know a couple of Eagles songs, with Hotel California obviously being a stand out classic. And it’s at the forefront of my brain, as well, for being featured as a distraction technique in Shang-Chi. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this album - you never really know what you’re going to get with 70s rock - but I really loved it! Soft rock from start to finish, with some great songs and a bit of variety to keep it interesting. A great way to finish the year.

Turnstiles by Billy Joel

A relatively good album this one, gets off to quite a jazzy start and, of course, New York State of Mind is an absolute classic. There’s a range of styles and lots of instrumentation to enjoy, but I don’t know if it’s one I’ll replay a lot.

Billy Ocean by Billy Ocean

This is just a solid Billy Ocean album. If you like his style, old school R&B, then you’ll like the album, and I really do. There’s some standout tracks, obviously the single Love really Hurts Without You, and some that don’t quite age as well as you’d hope. Any song that talks about little girls doesn’t work anymore, even if it doesn’t mean what it sounds like it means.
