Letter To You by Bruce Springsteen

What an album this is. Obviously it means more having watched the revelatory and intensely moving documentary that goes along with it, but oof, it’s so good. A handful of the songs stand out when you’re not listening to the album but when you’re in it, it’s all good. My only complaint is House of a Thousand Guitars which doesn’t scan, and mildly irritates me every time I hear it.

Western Stars by Bruce Springsteen

I really liked the last Bruce album I listened to and although I knew this one was going to be kinda different, I still had hopes it would work out. Ultimately, it wasn’t my favourite. It’s just a bit boring, really, nothing stood out particularly and a couple of the songs were annoying (the miracle one, and the one where he seems to just list many ailments).

Really enjoyed this album, so very indulgently eighties. Fine balance between guitar rock and country music, but great songs, catchy melodies, and some anthems you can roar.
