3:08 | Nice catch up, and I actually remember the last one too! Bonus. |
7:32 | Don’t you go damaging those books now, you two. |
14:00 | He is ab-so-lutely ruthless. |
20:16 | Oof, that was a rough old sequence. Bleurgh. |
20:38 | Standard, John Wick can kill a man from a thousand paces but can’t hear a car coming to quite literally save his life. |
23:42 | I feel like the horse would be scared of the gunshots. |
27:33 | Jardani is a much more interesting name than John. |
29:45 | “How can you escape from the light? Of course, you can go to the dark. But they are in the dark too.” |
35:50 | Information super-fly-way. |
41:59 | “I didn’t kill you, I just shot you.” |
48:55 | Jeez, these ones have got proper stealth mode on. |
51:28 | So that’s Robson and Jerome in a John Wick film. |
57:07 | “I get it.” Of all people, he really does! |
1:02:37 | Halle Berry is kicking some ass. |
1:10:13 | “Never seen a man fight so hard to end up back where he started.” |
1:13:24 | Surely it is not helpful to have an assassin without a finger… for no good reason. |
1:23:33 | Well, we’ve never seen this part of the hotel before. Fancy. |
1:33:21 | I just can’t see them getting out of this alive, but they’ve got to I suppose. |
1:35:28 | Feel like he’s racing through his ammo very quickly. |
1:38:06 | Love it, I want to be like Winston! |
1:54:34 | A parlay usually means it’s not going very well. |
Thoughts
Another good entry in the John Wick franchise, I hadn’t realised how much I’d been looking forward to it until it popped up available to watch. The violence at the beginning was… a bit much for me, if I’m honest. I don’t remember the others being quite so bad - I think because there was so much hand-to-hand and knife stuff. After Wick got his hands on some guns, it was a little better.
Some of this felt a bit unnecessary and weird - like the chopping off the finger thing, which quite apart from making Wick’s life harder, must have been a pain in the ass for the CGI people.
But, Halle Berry was incredible, fighting better than Keanu in places. And even though she was the bad guy, I loved how bad-ass the adjudicator was. Good film and room for more at the end too, hooray!
