|2:01||One sentence in and Alfred’s stealing the show as always.|
|8:07||A helicopter couldn’t lift the safe like that.|
|10:04||Well that all seems legit.|
|11:27||He’s not a smart one, this TwoFace.|
|11:53||Since when does Gotham have a Statue of Liberty?|
|16:25||Batman is always so chill about the bat signal. Superman goes running when he’s called.|
|18:08||“You called me here for this? The bat signal is not a beeper.”|
|28:27||Riddler version of Zoltar is kinda freaky.|
|31:51||How do they know it’s a man?|
|33:16||Surely, after the last film, he hates the circus?|
|38:41||This guy really doesn’t want to stay anonymous. He didn’t even assess the options, just yelled it out.|
|42:33||How old is Robin supposed to be? He looks about thirty.|
|52:17||“The bat’s stubborn refusal to expire…”|
|1:05:13||Batman suddenly has an Apple Watch?|
|1:07:12||Is Robin supposed to be BETTER than Batman?|
|1:17:10||“Your entrance was good, his was better.”|
|1:24:10||Loving Batman’s smug face.|
|1:36:45||“I’m afraid they’ve taken her. Master Dick has run away. They blew up the bat cave. And there’s another riddle.” Bad day!|
|1:39:32||They just did a Godzilla moment. “They call him… Robin.”|
|1:44:01||“Holy rusted metal Batman!”|
I liked the slightly more comic book approach, it suited Jim Carrey because he’s basically a comic book character in himself. Val Kilmer was probably the best of the three Batmen. Two-Face was good, and they were great as a duo together.
I didn’t really like Nicole Kidman’s character, she was a bit wishy washy, but I did like the interesting dilemma she presented. And she caused Batman smug face which is always fun. Drew Barrymore was criminally underused.
I quite liked Robin, and the backstory there was fun, I just couldn’t get past the fact that he looked really old when he was supposed to be a vulnerable kid who needed Bruce Wayne to look after him.
Alfred, as always, is the best thing in it.
