Danny Glover stars in this electrifying sequel as a police lieutenant grappling with a pileup of mangled bodies found by his officers. But instead of being the work of feuding gangs, as he first thought, the vicious slayings have been perpetrated by a deadly, invisible alien creature. Now, not only is the alien in the urban jungle of Los Angeles - the lieutenant is its next intended target.

I wasn’t necessarily looking forward to this movie, what with it being a sequel (eek) to a very popular action movie. But hey, it was surprisingly good. Not as good as the first, but decent, amusing in places, tense in others. Good characters, an interesting story, and it got to that fabled point “how on earth are they going to get out of this one?”
Well, the answer is: terribly. The movie was going well, apart from the god-awful dubbing, up until the final moments. Then, Glover went crazy violent and really made a meal of finishing off the Predator. It was kinda disturbing. Also, the CG in the fog of the spaceship was terrible. In the same terrible way that Terminator had some dodgy moments that just take you out of the film. They didn’t even need the fog, it wasn’t necessary for the story and just made their lives harder.
And then the end, just kinda didn’t make sense. Where did those other Predators come from? Were they also on Earth? If so, why didn’t they need to keep going to the slaughterhouse to feed? If not, how did they get to where they are now and why did they need a spaceship to leave when they appeared to be able to appear and disappear at random? Too many questions.
A good film right up until the point when it wasn’t anymore.
